Located in the Drake Performance and Event Center

Theatre Style: Laboratory Theatre
Normal Occupancy: 30 Persons

The New Works Lab, the Department of Theatre’s laboratory space for new and experimental works, had its inaugural
year during the 2001 season. Its purpose is to be an incubator for the creation of new and experimental theatre in traditional and non-traditional forms. In the fall of 2001, renovations to Drake Union room 2066, the home of the lab, began. Curtains were set in the space and plans for continuing the renovations to the New Works Lab by installing a control booth, teleconferencing and broadcasting equipment, as well as lighting and sound equipment were drafted.
